Marvel’s Daredevil and all other Defenders series are now reported to be leaving Netflix.

The shows were originally produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios for Netflix, with the streaming platform maintaining distribution rights up until 2021 after the cancelation of Jessica Jones.

Fans noticed a note attached to the start of these shows on Netflix that read, “This show is available until March 1st.”

It was a matter of time on when they went back to Disney & ABC. Now it is happening due to Disney legally owning the shows.

The Daredevil fan account had a follow-up tweet sharing the same issue has been happening to them. Other Twitter users are revealing they had the notification pop up as well. Additionally, international Reddit users shared that they had a notification telling them the shows leave at the end of the month. Some briefly had the error pop up before not happening again. This seems to be a sign that the info was revealed early as it has now been reported to be true.

Due to the more graphic rating, the shows are expected to end up on Hulu in the US and Star+ internationally when they leave.

Charlie Cox revealed recently that he may be playing Daredevil in the MCU for the “next 10 years of his life” and that he knows “a little [about the future], and what I do know I’m very excited about”. It’s expected to be a new iteration of the character, rather than a Season 4 continuation of the Netflix show.

The timing of this all checks out with all the rights returning fully to Disney two years after Jessica Jones was canceled, Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin in Hawkeye, and Charlie Cox reprising the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Both Tom Holland and Charlie Cox have expressed hope that the NYC-based characters will be able to team up in a future project.
