The humble service station is finally being tended to in a way in which it deserves. David Jones and BP are set to launch 21 ritzy servos across Sydney and Melbourne.

Whilst my general objection to gentrification burns hot, my love for a Marks and Spencers-core service station burns hotter. If I had one last day on earth that I could spend however I liked, I would invite all my homies to a Marks and Sparks garage and spend our remaining 24 hours eating our way through their smorgasbord of sambos.

These new David Jones servos will flog everything from full rotisserie chickens, salads, sambos, pastries and a bunch of opulent DK’s meals like green curry chicken, butter chicken, lasagne, cottage cheese, vegan spag bol and mac ‘n’ cheese, freshly prepared on location each day.

These new stores are set to open in Merrifield, Clyde, Epping, Caroline Springs, Eltham, Greenvale and Kingsway in Victoria, and Kellyville, Marsden Park, Seven Hills, Willoughby, Caringbah, Mosman, Sydenham, Penrith, Thornleigh, Asquith, Engadine, Peninsula, West Ryde and Ourimbah in New South Wales.

Absolutely afore the Western Sydney representation on this one. The knowledge that my militant vegan, tradie brother will now be able to indulge in a gourmet roasted broccoli, ancient grain, cabbage & coriander salad instead of solely getting his nutrients from a Four’N Twenty meat-free pie has overwhelmed me with a sense of calm.

If you haven’t got a car and still want to indulge in this luncheon of readily-available meals, each store offers a selection of their items for delivery via UberEats, as part of  Everyday by BP X David Jones.
