In news that is music to the ears of Friends fans, David Schwimmer has confirmed the reunion special is set to finally start filming next month.
After production of the one-off special was postponed last year as a result of the pandemic, Schwimmer has provided us all with an update on the hotly-anticipated reunion.
Speaking on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show (via NME), Schwimmer revealed he will be heading to LA to film in “[a] little over a month.”
“We figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we film outside… you know, for safety protocols,” he said.
When asked about who would be hosting the special, Schwimmer said: “I don’t know if I can say who. It’s not Ellen [DeGeneres], it’s not Billy Crystal. I could tell you who it’s not.”
While little is known yet as to the exact details of the special, it has been confirmed that each of the original main cast members Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry will appear.
In other news, Chris Rock recently confirmed the rumours that he was almost cast in both Friends and Seinfeld.

Appearing on A Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Rock revealed that “there was a lot of NBC talk” and “there was talk about Seinfeld.”
As for Friends, Rock joked that he would’ve ended up being the “Black friend” of the group had he been cast.
“There was talk about me being one of the Friends at a point. Yes, I would have been the Black friend. That’s actually who I am to America anyway,” he said.
