Following the news that electric American punk outfit The Julie Ruin had cancelled their appearance at Laneway, the festival has made up for the loss with the billing of Victorian wunderkind D.D. Dumbo.
The emerging pop rock musician has released one of the albums of the year, inUtopia Defeated,and has been absent from the national stage for two years. Laneway 2017 will pave way for his resurgence where much-loved tracksSatan, WalrusandBrotherare sure to feature.
His eclectic meld of lo-fi, blues-laced, deconstructed pop has seen him share the stage with the likes of Tame Impala, Courtney Barnett, Beirut and St. Vincent and appear at the hallowed Pitchfork Paris and Latitude festivals.
D.D. Dumbo will perform atLanewaywhen it goes down on Saturday February 4 at the Sydney College of the Arts, Rozelle.
