There’s no earthly way of knowing whether or not this will actually see the light of day, but Donald Glover is in talks to play Willy Wonka in a(nother) remake of the book/film that taught us all that slavery is fun, child cruelty is okay as long as the kids are brats, and sneakiness wins the day.

According to Collider, Glover is on a shortlist of actors to play the titular role, a list which also features Ryan Gosling and Ezra Miller.

Glover has “actively been chasing this role”, and considering how hot he is at the moment (#1 box office hit, #1 single, best television show airing at the moment), if he wants it, he will probably make it happen.

The film will be directed by Paul King, who recently helmed the heartwarming Paddington movie.
