President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, has tested positive with the coronavirus, according to a spokesman.
As per ABC, he’s become the latest member of the Trump dynasty to become infected with the virus. After denying the legitimacy of it for months, his father contracted COVID-19 in October. His wife Melania got it too (seriously, has she been replaced by a clone?), as did his youngest son, Barron. They have all since recovered.
The virus is spreading through the family like wildfire and Trump Jr is its latest target. The spokesman said the younger Trump tested positive at the start of the week and has been “quarantining at his cabin since the result”.
“He’s been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines,” he said.
Andrew Giuliani, a White House aide and son of Mr Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, also tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
“I am experiencing mild symptoms, and am following all appropriate protocols, including being in quarantine and conducting contact tracing,” the younger Giuliani, who joined the White House’s Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs in 2017, said on Twitter.
Mr Giuliani attended his father’s press conference on Thursday in Washington, according to multiple reports. The elder Giuliani and other Trump campaign lawyers spoke without masks from an indoor podium, to an audience of dozens.
Several White House staffers have tested positive for the disease in recent weeks, including chief of staff Mark Meadows, while six members of Congress have tested positive this week.
At least four other people who work in the White House, in addition to Andrew Giuliani, have contracted the disease in recent days.
We know that Trump Jr is obsessed with his papa. He craves his love and attention (good luck) but this might be a step too far.
Here’s hoping that Trump Jr does what Trump was supposed to do and leaves the hospital in a superman outfit. Give us all a much-needed laugh.
