Netflix stand-up star and actor Iliza Shlesinger is ‘Back In Action,’ announcing her return to Australia and New Zealand with shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland in early 2023.

Shlesinger is an award-winning comedian, actor, writer, and author, selling out theatres around the globe with a devoted fan base who are known for creating their own Iliza-inspired swag to wear to her shows.

She is currently preparing to tape her sixth Netflix special next month, but already has five on the streaming service, including Elder Millennial, Unveiled, Confirmed Kills, Freezing Hot and War Paint.

Shlesinger also wrote and starred in the 2021 Netflix r0m-com Good On Paper, which was based on a real-life relationship she had with a man who lied about his job, where he lived, where he went to college, and invented bogus tales of illness and personal hardship.

“I’d say two thirds of that movie are true,” Shlesinger told Vanity Fair. “And every single lie that [the character] Dennis Kelly tells in this movie, those are lies that I took from memory that were told to me. All of those lies happened.”

She also appeared in the critically acclaimed indie drama Pieces of a Woman with Vanessa Kirby and starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in Spenser Confidential. Other credits include Instant Family, starring Wahlberg and Australia’s Rose Byrne, and The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show, a comedy series she created and starred in for Netflix.

Shlesinger was famously sued by a man in 2017, who claimed her ‘Girls Night In’ show violated California law by barring men. Variety reported that according to the suit, George St. George bought a $30 ticket to Shlesinger’s show in Los Angeles, which was advertised as “No Boys Allowed.” St. George and a male friend attempted to enter the show and were initially told they could sit in the back row, but later they were denied entry and offered a refund.
