It’s been close to four years since Eminem toured Australia, bringing with him the likes of a little-known rapper called Kendrick Lamar. Since then, Em’s made no indication he plans to come back to our fine country, but if a mysterious Twitter account is to be believed, you might want to get your wallet ready, because an Eminem tour is about to be announced.
You might have heard of OzTourLeaks, a Twitter account that does exactly what it says on the tin, and leaks news of upcoming Australian tours. While the person or persons behind it are a mystery, it’s been said that the Twitter account is run by someone “in the industry”, which is probably why they’ve been so accurate in the past.
Having announced tours by the likes of Green Day, Crystal Castles, and Justin Bieber before they were announced officially, OzTourLeaks seems to have quite a bit of credibility. That’s why we’re so excited about a sly comment that the account made, adding fuel to the rumours of an upcoming Eminem tour.
Earlier today, a Twitter user posed a question to OzTourLeaks, asking “Eminem waitlist has popped up on ticketek. Get excited or just another pointless waitlist?” It didn’t take long for OzTourLeaks to respond with a very simple “Get excited”.
Now, remember, OzTourLeaks have been accurate in the past, and haven’t made a name for themselves as an account that teases tours, only to rescind that promise at the last minute, so we’re inclined to believe that there may indeed be a tour from ol’ Double M in the works.
This news of course comes just after Eminem collaborator Denaun Porter let slip that the Rap God’s new record is now finished. “Am I working on Eminem’s new album?” Porter pondered during an Instagram livestream. “No, we are done. How about that?”
So if Eminem is indeed getting ready to announce an Aussie tour, now is the perfect time. Sure, it looks like we might have to sit back and wait for official word to come through, but needless to say, we’re doing just as OzTourLeaks have suggested, and we’re getting pretty excited.
