Bidding farewell to the crisp blue waters of Narooma in NSW, Emma Russack now calls Melbourne home. Her environment may have changed, but the earthy folk vocals, which garnered her quick success, have stayed with her.

Inspired by the Joni Mitchells, Cat Powers and Bonnie Prince Billys of this world, Russack is clinging to music of a deeper meaning. Seemingly unfazed nor impressed by internet fame, the young folk singer wants to make music that means something.

Russack will be hopping around the country singing and strumming her stories for all those who want to hear them.

See Emma Russack at Brighton Up Bar on Saturday June 21.
