In a headline that reads like it was spat out of a random word generator; Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is set to direct a film about iconic snack, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The film is a biopic, set to explore the story of Richard Montanez — the creator of the devilishly delicious snack. The rags to riches story will follow Montanez, the son of a Mexican immigrant, who imagined the idea for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos whilst working as a Janitor at Frito-Lay. His glorious invention — which was inspired by his community, created unprecedented waves in the culinary and pop culture realms. Where would Orange Is The New Black be without the season-defining Hot Cheetos plotline?
As Deadline reports, Longoria trumped over multiple directors for the job, impressing Franklin Entertainment label with her passionate approach to the story.
The script has been written by Charlie St. Cloud and October Sky scribe Lewis Colick.
