Fans have uncovered that Joe Biden is a villain in Spider-Man comics with the power to turn invisible and included a panel to prove it.

The Twitter account @ThatBmanGuy has uncovered an interesting tidbit of Spider-Man lore from the comics— that one of his villains, Spectrum, is actually named Joe Biden. While it is true that his name is Joe Biden, he is not meant to be the comic manifestation of the Joe Biden that is the current president of the United States. Regardless, it is still very interesting to be reading a Spider-Man comic and see a seemingly random character start calling themselves Joe Biden.

The thread starts with a picture of Biden’s page on Marvel Database which includes that he is part of the mainline Earth-616 universe of the Marvel Comics.

“I’m crying why the fuck is Joe Biden a Spider-Man villain”

The OP also added an interesting bit of information— that Joe Biden has more comic book appearances than characters such as El Muerto.

“He has more comic book appearances than El Muerto too lmfao @SonyPictures where’s the Joe Biden movie”

The comic book panel included is indeed one of the most bizarre out-of-context panels to date and includes Spidey looking for Spectrum until finally, he calls out for the villain to reveal his name.

“Found the first comic he appeared in and I have to say this one of the funniest out of context comic book panels I’ve ever seen.”

“If I remember right Spectrum isn’t a villain so much as an entertainer who keeps accidentally taking clients who use his light shows as cover or distraction for crimes”

“So wait, he can become invisible?? What if he’s secretly already been in one of the Spider-Man movies? Maybe he’s been in all of them!”
