First Look: The New Documentary That Investigates What’s Happening To Sydney’s Culture (And What We Can Do About It)

Debate and drama around Sydney’s music, arts, hospitality and gambling industries have run rife since the State Government’s introduction of its lockout laws more than two years ago, and after all the jobs, venues and tourism dollars that have been lost, our city feels like it’s in critical condition.

However, opposition to the lockouts has grown more and more vocal – and perhaps more importantly, Sydneysiders are starting to talk with each other about how to shape our communal culture for the better. Now, Sydney band The Ruckusand Playbook Productions are preparing to releaseVibe City, a independent documentary film that looks into the current legislative landscape of our city, and how Sydneysiders are working to improve it for its present and future citizens.
