Frozen Toblerone Cheesecake. Do any three words pair more effortlessly together? Aldi Special Buys. Sloe Gin Fizz. Chad Michael Murray. Nope, this easily has them beat, and is now a delicious reality.
Hot off the heels of launching Toblerone Frozen Sticks (fancy speak for ice-cream) and seemingly appearing out of the shadows, the frozen treat is said to be a “delicious baked cheesecake on a chocolate flavoured biscuit base topped with Toblerone’s smooth milk chocolate.”
If you listen hard enough, you can hear fans of the Swiss chocolate bar going weak at the knees.
Word on the street is that these tasty bastards are a little tough to actually track down, but one person who did manage to snag one was @foodfindsgeelong – an Instagrammer known for reviewing Aussie and international desserts.
Their verdict: “The topping generally tastes like a Toberlone but when eaten all together it does get lost as the biscuit base does overpower it.” But these are just words, we still demand our own mouths provide the final verdict.
A bit of online sleuthing has confirmed that the cakes are selling for $11 a pop, but are currently unavailable for online ordering on the Coles website (it appears to be exclusive to that chain for the moment), so your best bet is to head down to your local and discover if you’re one of the lucky few who can get your mitts on one.
If Toblerone isn’t your thing, Oreo Frozen Cheesecakes have also found their way onto Coles shelves, touting “Baked vanilla cheesecake on a dark chocolate flavoured biscuit and OREO crumb base, topped with OREO pieces.”
