FWAW lead Samuel Messina has been sentenced after being found guilty of three domestic abuse charges.

The reality star was handed a sentence by Magistrate Michael Ong today in Port Kembla Local Court of 18-month community correction order and fined $350 over the assault charges.

Messina was handed a guilty verdict back in November. over three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, in relation to an altercation with his ex-girlfriend in 2019. The reality star will receive his sentence in January.

Messina plead not guilty to the four charges brought against him by his exgirlfriend, but was found guilty of three of them.

As per The Daily Telegraph, court reports detail that Messina opened a door into his former partner’s right foot in March of that year, causing her physical pain.

Four months later, Messina allegedly threw her onto the floor, and also allegedly punched her in the nose, causing to severely bleed. He was also accused of throwing the woman on the floor by her clothes in a separate altercation in July.

Messina was found guilty on all of the above charges.

The 27-year-old was additionally charged with whipping her with a phone charging cable, however, he was found not guilty as the victim’s records showed that she was at work at the time of the alleged incident.

The court heard that the victim finally reported the incidents, which occurred in 2019, after Messina made threatening statements against her rabbits in February 2020.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Ben Bragger said the woman’s delay in reporting the incidents shouldn’t affect her credibility. “In 2022, delay is not a reason to attack credibility,” he said, according to The Sunday Telegraph.
