Gal Gadot appears to have finally confirmed a rumour about the behaviour of director Joss Whedon while they were filming 2017’s Justice League.
Joss Whedon has been subject to a number of allegations over recent months, with several actors he’s worked with accusing him of professional misconduct.
While Gal Gadot admitted last year that she’d had an “experience” with Joss Whedon that “wasn’t the best one,” she has mostly remained tight-lipped about what went down.
Now, she has revealed to Israel news outlet N12 (via Deadline) that Whedon “kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable, and I just took care of it instead.”
Gadot’s comment appears to align with a report from The Hollywood Reporter last month that quoted sources saying she had clashed with Whedon over aspects of the film.
The source told the publication that Whedon had made changes to the script following original director Zach Snyder’s departure. Reportedly, he wanted Gadot to record new lines that she didn’t feel suited the character of Wonder Woman.
“She wanted to make the character flow from one movie to the next,” said the source, while another witness claimed he, “told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.”

Meanwhile, in July 2020 Gadot’s co-star Ray Fisher also accused Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” behaviour on the set.
When asked to comment on Fisher’s statement by the LA Times in December, she said she was “happy for Ray to go out and speak his truth.”
The accusations from the Justice League stars following statements from several cast members of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
Back in February, Charisma Carpenter took to Twitter took to Twitter to claim Whedon of creating “hostile and toxic work environments since his early career.”
A number of her co-stars voiced their support of her statement, including Sarah Michelle Geller, Michelle Trachtenberg and Amber Benson.
“Buffy was a toxic environment and it starts at the top… there was a lot of damage done during that time and many of us are still processing it twenty plus years later,” tweeted Benson.
On top of that, Trachtenberg added: I am brave enough now as a 35-year-old woman to repost this. Because. This must. Be known. As a teenager. With his not appropriate behaviour….very. Not. Appropriate.”
Geller joined in by simply stating that she was “proud of them for speaking out” and that she didn’t want to be “forever associated with the name Joss Whedon.”
