Can’t get enough hot cross buns right now? Well, get ready to scarf down some more in the form of the new gelato flavour by Gelatissimo – Choc Cross Buns.
Masters of gelato creations, Gelatissimo is back at it again. Although they’ve wowed us with their Bundaberg collaboration last year, and even released a flavour that you and your pup could simultaneously share, now they have announced a new flavour that’s sure to get your taste buds excited: Choc Cross Buns.
If you thought the buns at Woolies were delish, you’ll be going nuts for this new gelato. According to their website, the flavour is set to be divine.
“Choc Cross Buns is a chocolate gelato flavoured with traditional hot cross bun spices and layered with chunks of locally made, chocolate hot cross buns. These baked choc chip buns are soaked in a sweet, naturally-spiced syrup, meaning you’ll have the flavour of Easter in every mouthful!”
On top of releasing such an aptly timed flavour, Gelatissimo is reaching out to spread a little joy at this troubling time in the world – they’re giving away some of the gelato for free.
As said by their website: “Now more than ever, we want to keep spreading love and happiness through gelato, so we’re opening up the question to you – who do you think/know deserves a tub of our NEW Choc Cross Buns gelato?”
That’s right – if you have a family member, friend, or anyone who you think deserves a bit of a smile right now for their hard work, you can nominate them to win a tub of Choc Cross Buns. Sadly, just like the hot cross buns at the supermarket, the flavour is set to be limited edition, and will only be around as long as their supplies last. However, you can luckily either pop into one of their shops (as long as you’re taking care to mind social distancing!) to snap up the delicious new gelato, or you can even have it delivered by UberEats, Deliveroo, or DoorDash.
