As the war between Gelatissimo and Gelato Messina continues to heat up, the two ice-cream giants are finding more creative ways to inch ahead of the competition. Gelatissimo’s latest manoeuvre is something we could have never predicted. The chain has introduced an ice cream flavour that can be consumed by both humans and dogs.

The flavour of choice for your pooch is Pawesome Peanut Butter, a smooth peanut butter gelato that is both dog and vegan-friendly. Made with real peanut butter, it’ll be available in stores across Australia from Friday 3rd of May.

Gelatissimo is celebrating by throwing a dog-friendly brunch at Bodhi, at Cook & Phillip Park. From 9:30 am -11: 30 am, you’ll be able to stuff your gob with vegan yum, whilst your dog chows down on vegan treats. You’ll then wash down your feast with a Pawesome Peanut Butter Gelato. Whilst the idea of sharing an ice-cream with anyone, let alone a dog, is enough to trigger my gag reflex, we’re not here to judge. You can have your lady and the tramp moment with your pooch if that’s something you deem truly necessary.
