You read that right. On this day of days, Tuesday, 25th June, McDonalds will be damn near throwing Big Macs at us, with a deal that’s far too savoury to ignore – $1 Big Macs, baby.
Just for today, and only while stocks last, Australian Macca’s lovers will be able to grease up their mitts with the new and improved Big Mac burger. Rest assured, the beloved food stable hasn’t been gentrified, or hipstered-up, we’re talking about the same two-all-beef-patties-special-sauce-lettuce-cheese-pickles-onion on a sesame seed bun, only now the burger will be “hotter, juicier and tastier.”
Other than some potential heartburn, and the dreaded mcGuilt Trip, there are no strings attached to the deal either. Anyone wishing to partake in this day of days need only download the McDonalds app, mymacca’s, and head to the My Rewards section to redeem the offer.
The spectacle punctuates a new endeavour from McDonalds Australia to ‘flip’ their burger-making practices on their head. Australia is said to be the first market where the fast food giant will be altering the way their iconic burgers get made.
It’s all about the little differences now. Burgers will be grilled with onions, patties will be seared more quickly and you can expect new and improved buns to boot. Legend has it, there will also be more special sauce on Big Macs also.
