Here Lies Love, the musical written by Talking Heads founding member David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, will open as the theatrical centrepiece of Vivid Sydney 2015.

The musical follows former First Lady of the Philippines, Imelda Marcos – she of the infinite shoe collection – as she rises to power before her and her husband fall from grace during the People Power Revolution. Directed by Alex Timbers, the production takes advantage of its writers’ musical chops to deliver a 360-degree experience of dance music and energetic choreography. Having already taken New York by storm, the musical opens in London this month.

Auditions for the Australian cast will begin in October, with Here Lies Love to open in Sydney in May.
