Harley Bonner, who plays paramedic Logan Bennett, is reportedly leaving Home & Away because he refuses to comply with their vaccine mandate rule.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Bonner isn’t vaccinated and a Channel Seven spokesperson told the publication that Bonner was leaving the show saying, that she “can confirm Harley will not return to Home and Away when filming returns in the coming weeks.”
“Harley leaves with our best wishes and sincere thanks for his work on the show,” she added.
The move comes weeks after Sam Frost who played Jasmine Miles departed the soap after publicly refuses to have the COVID-19 vaccine. In October Frost posted a tearful video claiming she wasn’t getting the vaccine and didn’t think the “segregation” against people choosing not to get vaccinated was fair.
“I feel like it’s getting to a point now in the world where there’s a lot of segregation, a lot of harsh judgment, and it’s taking its toll on my mental health,” she said in the video.
She added, “It’s a really hard time to be in society right now, you feel like you are less of a human and you feel like people judge you, and you’re too scared to talk about your opinion or your feelings, and part of you wants to go, ‘Well, it’s none of your damn business why I’m not (vaccinated)’.”
Frost received so much backlash for her post, that she temporarily deactivated her Instagram account. Shortly after, the actor revealed that she was temporarily being written out of the soap to give her time to get a vaccine. However, she’s since announced her permanent removal from the series.
“We support and respect Sam’s decision to leave Home and Away,” a statement released by Seven said.
“Sam leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for the future.”
