In an issue of ‘Dark Crisis: Young Justice,’ a homophobic Batman tells Robin that his sexuality is a “phase” that he will get out of.
A new issue of ‘Dark Crisis: Young Justice’ has just been released and some people are confused about why Batman is homophobic in it. During this comic run, Tim Drake (Robin) is trapped in a nightmare dream world with Bart Allen (Kid Flash) and Connor Kent (Superboy). In Robin’s true reality, he has already come out as bisexual to Batman, who said, “you make me happy because you are my son” in response. A much more wholesome and accepting response in comparison to Tim’s nightmare version of Batman.
In the nightmare world, Batman immediately began gaslighting Tim after he rebuked Bruce’s attempts at pairing him with Stephanie. Drake told Batman he was dating Bernard and Batman basically said, “no you’re in a phase let’s do an arranged marriage instead.”

The person who Tweeted the original panel followed it up with further context, although the damage may have already been done.

“This is most likely NOT BRUCE WAYNE, just Robin halucinating his future self and his internalized homophobia acting up. Bruce Wayne wears “I love my bi-son ” shirts and WOULD NEVER DO THIS!!!!!”

Batman’s statement was brought up in a later panel by Bart and Connor but Tim wasn’t in the mood to talk about it further.

Here is a Tweet providing what happened in Tim Drake’s reality when essentially the same conversation went down with the real Batman.
“this tweet is a cautionary tale about what happens when comic fans make jokes that aren’t intended to leave our target audience
Anyway for those just joining: this isn’t the real Bruce, Tim’s trapped in a nightmare world, and this was Bruce’s actual reaction:”

The comic in question is ‘Dark Crisis: Young Justice’ Issue #2 for anybody who is interested in reading further!
“Dark Crisis: Young Justice. It’s a miniseries tie-in to the larger Dark Crisis event, with the premise that Tim, Conner, and Bart are stuck in a dream/nightmare world and Cassie has to go rescue them.”
