After a long period of silence, Euphoria fans have finally been treated with a breadcrumb about what to expect in season three.
The show’s costume designer Heidi Bivens let it slip to Vogue in an interview that the characters may leave East Highland High School behind and be transported five years into the future.
“I’m really excited to read the scripts. “There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore. Dorothy’s not in Kansas anymore,” the designer told the publication.
She continued, “I mean, it might be a total trip,” she continued. Who can say? But knowing Sam [Levinson, show creator]’s brain, it’s gonna be exciting, and he will challenge all of us, because he won’t want to repeat himself. It’ll be something new for the audience to discover.”
However, Euphoria fans shouldn’t expect to see Barbie Ferreira’s character Katherine “Kat” Hernandez in season three, as she confirmed in August last year that she was leaving the show.
“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez.”

Just days after the news that Barbie was exiting the franchise, rumours began to swirl that Alex Demie’s character Maddie was also exiting “due to behind-the-scenes issues”.
A tweet was shared that announced the news, and racked up over 15,000 quote tweets before it was deleted. However, it turned out to be a fake and the attached “news article” about Demie’s departure took users to a page that thanked fans for voting for Doja Cat at the MTV VMAs.
