A Lion Air flight from Indonesia disappeared from radars just minutes after takeoff, it has now been reported that the plane has crashed.
Flight JT610 disappeared from radar screens approximately fifteen minutes after it took off from Jakarta on Monday morning. It has been reported that there were 188 passengers and crew onboard.
The plane was on a scheduled flight to Pangkal Pinang, the main city in the Bangka Belitung Islands.
Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, The head of Indonesia’s disaster agency has tweeted images of debris and personal belongings that reportedly came from the aircraft.

It is unclear as to whether or not there are any survivors.
The chief executive of Lion Air Group has stated “We cannot give any comment at this moment. We are trying to collect all the information and data.”
