Getting the COVID-19 jab has just become that little bit easier, as some legend has put together an interactive map of Australia’s vaccination clinics.

Last year, Sydney-based geospatial engineer Ken Tsang created an interactive map that showed all the exposure sites within a specified area, COVID-19 Near Me.

Now, he has upped the ante by adding a feature that lists all available vaccination clinics that offer either AstraZeneca, Pfizer or both.

The map now includes information from state government-run mega clinics, GPs and pharmacies, and also shows each clinic’s vaccine availability per day when possible.

As user-friendly as it is helpful, a grey dot indicates if a clinic doesn’t take online bookings, a purple dot is used to represent an AstraZeneca clinic and a blue dot shows a Pfizer clinic.

While the map is powered by official data, it isn’t run by the Australian government, so those looking to get vaccinated are still encouraged to check out the Department of Health website as well.

Currently, all Australian adults, including those under the age of 40, are eligible to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine after giving a doctor their informed consent.

Meanwhile, those who would prefer the Pfizer vaccine currently need to fall into a specific group to access it, given that the country’s vaccination rollout hasn’t yet opened up the Pfizer jab to all age groups.

Put simply, adults under the age of 39 aren’t yet eligible to get the Pfizer vaccination unless they are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, have an underlying medical condition or significant disability, are pregnant, work in quarantine, border or healthcare roles, work or live in an aged care or disability facility; work in a critical and high-risk job such as defence, fire, police, emergency services and meat processing, or participate in the NDIS, or care for someone who does.
