One of the most fascinating tidbits to come out of the Amber Heard vs. Johnny Depp trial today had nothing to do with the warring exes.
Neither Depp nor Heard took the stand on Monday, US time, but entertainment consultant Kathryn Arnold was called to discuss Heard’s “mark” in the industry.
During discussion of Heard’s involvement with Aquaman 2, Arnold revealed co-star Jason Momoa had re-negotiated his contract from making about $3-4 million for the first Aquaman film, to about $15 million for the second instalment.
She also claimed both Momoa and the film’s director, James Wan, were “adamant” she be included in the movie. Arnold testified back in February last year, and there were conversations that Amber may not be hired for the movie at all – but the two showed their support for her, TMZ reported.
Arnold called Heard’s casting in the superhero flick her “star is born” moment.
An entertainment consultant called by #AmberHeard's legal team said that the movie "Aquaman" was Amber Heard's "star is born" moment.
"She was on the poster with the very handsome Jason Momoa….it was just this very extraordinary moment for her career to take off," she said. pic.twitter.com/ePwrk7HpEV

“It was that moment where not only was she a good actor, but she was now world-renowned because she was in the most successful film … for DC Comics,” Arnold said, as per the New York Post.
“It was just this extraordinary moment for her, for her career to take off.”
Aquaman grossed more than $1.1 billion ($AUD 1.5 billion) at the box office, but Heard’s name was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons due to her messy divorce with Depp, and that cost her a meteoric rise to fame.
“Every time she appears anywhere, the social media negativity campaign starts up again,” Arnold said.
Johnny Depp’s attorney took major issue with Arnold’s list of actors she claimed were comparable to Amber Heard in determining how much money Heard lost from negative publicity.
The comparisons included Jason Momoa, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and Star Trek lead Chris Pine, all of whom have appeared in much bigger roles than Heard.
The attorney methodically went through each actor’s career and how they are way above Heard in terms of career success.
DC President of Films Walter Hamada is set to virtually take the stand on Tuesday, May 24th. Hamada is expected to reveal to the jury that there were no negative consequences for Heard in relation to the Aquaman franchise due to her legal situation, including her upcoming role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
This comes just over a month after Hamada testified that Heard’s option was initially declined due to chemistry issues with ‘Arthur Curry’ actor Jason Momoa.
Meanwhile, fans have launched a petition for Blake Lively to replace Heard in the Aquaman franchise. A similar petition to remove Heard from the franchise quickly gathered over four million signatures.
Earlier this week, a fake video of Momoa testifying in the case went viral:
