There is one song that Wednesday star Jenna Ortega absolutely cannot stand – and it’s by a rather famous Australian artist.
Jenna Ortega’s character Wednesday Addams might have displayed a general aversion to ‘genuine and sweet’ things on the show, but it seems some of her traits have rubbed off on the actress as well.
Ortega recently opened up about the one song that she absolutely cannot stand – and it’s by an Australian artist. According to reports, Ortega has no patience for the uber-popular ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones And I.
Released in 2019, ‘Dance Monkey’ became somewhat of a viral sensation, making its way to not just repeated radio-plays, but also larger sections of the internet. Ortega, however, isn’t particularly fond of it. “If anyone ever plays that in my house, they’re instantly kicked out,” she said of the song.
Well, you can’t please everyone.

Ortega and her character – the titular Wednesday – have more in common than one might think. In a recent interview with Wired, Ortega admitted that she would perform autopsies on animals as a child.
“I’m a weirdo in, like, the [sense that I] used to perform autopsies on little animals when I was younger. Like little lizards that I found that were dead in my backyard.” she said while talking about her friendship with Maddie Ziegler.
Wednesday’s successful run on Netflix, however, has not been without its fair share of controversy. Shortly after the show aired, fans started calling out Netflix for hiding tweets that suggested that Wednesday Addams was a lesbian. Soon after, viewers also objected to the racist and stereotypical undertones in the show – particularly in context of Wednesday’s Mexican father being imprisoned on false charges and the portrayal of the only Black characters in the show as bullies.
netflix hiding every tweet calling wednesday gay like they’re not the ones the one who made promo called “wednesgay” 😭
