Rumours have been swirling that Jesse and Janelle have gotten together since MAFS filming wrapped, and he’s admitted that he wanted to fuel the speculation.

Jesse told Daily Mail Australia that he asked producers if he and Janelle could enter the reunion dinner party hand in hand, as a prank.

“Janelle and I were going to walk in together as a prank and get everyone,” he said.

“Because how funny [would it be] -Adam and Claire both cheat on us and then bang, me and Janelle walk in together – but production didn’t want it,” he added.

“We thought that was a head-turning idea… [but] they were like, ‘Nah, don’t want it.’ [So we] cancelled it.”

Jesse and Claire were paired up on MAFS, however, Claire cheated on her TV husband with groom Adam, who was partnered with Janelle.

Adam and his partner Janelle left the show fairly soon after his affair with Claire was revealed. While Claire and Jesse tried to work through their issues, they eventually left the show as Jesse couldn’t forgive Claire for what she did.

Since both couples have left the show, Janelle and Jesse have been pictured out together on multiple occasions, and one set of photos shows them holding hands while on, what looks to be, a double date with co-stars Tahnee and Ollie.

However, Jesse’s ex Claire isn’t buying the relationship. When asked about their new-found closeness on Where’s Your Head At podcast, Claire told the hosts that she’s heard “whispers” that they are faking their relationship to get more exposure.

“If that’s [the relationship between Janelle and Jess] true and it’s not a staged thing, which I have heard rumors that it was just for ‘let’s get a dialogue happening’.”

She added, “I haven’t asked them. I obviously don’t speak to Jesse right now and I haven’t asked Janelle, but [I’m] super happy for them.
