Jessica Mauboy will be returning to the judging panel of The Voice Australia this year and has shared that she’s thought of a strategy to help guarantee her success in the upcoming season.

The premise of the voice is that the coaches, who will be Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Rita Ora and Jason Derulo, battle it out to get their favourite contestants on their teams. Each week a contestant is voted out, and a single coach and contestant eventually win the show.

The season will start filming on April 3rd, and is set to premiere later this year.

Speaking about her return as a coach on the show, Mauboy told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia about the “strategy” she plans to adopt.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun this year,” she told the publication. “I think my strategy is purely to be there for the artist, to listen to them [and] help them create a performance they want to create.

“But also, [I’m going to] push them a little bit further and out of the box a little bit.”

Mauboy rose to fame on the fourth season of Australian Idol in 2006 and recently returned to the show’s stage to perform at the finale.
