MAFS alum Jessika Power has dished out advice to the current participants and has encouraged them to be accountable for their actions.

The former reality star – who is one of the most successful participants to come off the show – told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that her advice to this year’s brides and grooms is to “be accountable for everything you’ve done”.

Jessika added, “If you’re doing interviews, radio, whatever, make sure that you own up to your actions,” she says. “Don’t try and downplay it or be blasé or pass it off.

“Also, just push things. I was always on my Instagram Stories just talking so people could see my true self. Because as we know, all these reality shows are heavily edited, but it gives people a chance to follow you and see what you’re actually like.

She continued: “Just go with the ride because it’s a fricken long one.”

Jessika also told the publication that she’d recommend that future contestants be ready to handle the fact that anything from their past may be bought into the public eye.

“Be prepared to have people sell you out and be prepared to have to back yourself because it’s just what happens once you’ve gone on a show,” she adds.

“A lot of people are looking for a quick payout or people that didn’t like you in your past are looking to just sort of make you look stupider than what you make yourself look like on TV.”

Jessika was paired with farmer Mick Gould on the sixth season of MAFS and had an affair with her co-star Dan Webb who she went on to date after the show. The couple broke up shortly after the season aired, and she is now dating podcast host Connor Thompson.
