Exciting news for Jezabels fans with a packed schedule, or anyone who is just really loving the recently-reopened Lansdowne Hotel, as the band have just announced a run of seven consecutive nights at the venue, with a different support act joining them for each set.

Running from Monday August 21 to Sunday the 27th, we haven’t seen a move like this since King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizzard played eight sold-out gigs in a row at Melbourne’s Nightcat, taking just a single night off.

“We had a few reasons for doing seven nights at the Lansdowne,” The Jezabels’ Hayley Mary says. “We wanted to play a bunch of small, intimate shows to our Sydney fans where we could change up the set and play some songs we wouldn’t normally have time for, and the reopened Lansdowne represents such an awesome new era for Sydney that it seemed right it should be there.

“But mainly, we felt a sadistic kind of pleasure in making the staff listen to us over and over to the point of sheer disdain.”

The staff may find themselves either loving or hating some of the songs by the end of it, but for his part, owner Jake Smyth is stoked with the result, and The Jezabels’ dedication to their city.

“We are gonna throw a week of parties with one of our favourite bands!” he says. “We are thrilled that the Jezabels have chosen to celebrate this series of homecoming shows with us – it highlights their consistent support of live music and our fucking amazing city. Let’s have it!”Z
