Australian comedian Joel Creasey has revealed that he was almost arrested at an event hosted by Meghan Markle after he attempted to make a quiet exit.

The surreal experience took place several years ago when Markle was still a member of the royal family. Creasey was invited to a morning tea for youth leaders, but he grew bored after waiting for five hours for the Duchess of Sussex to arrive.

“She was still a member of the Royal Family at the time, and I went to a morning tea for youth leaders aged under 30. I just snuck in,” Creasy explained on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy and Wippa this morning.

He added, “I think the invite was for [fellow comedian] Josh Thomas and I took it. I went along and she was five hours late.”

However, Creasey said he grew “bored” after waiting for Markle for so long, and attempted to leave.

“I said, “Can I leave? I don’t care about her that much,” and security said, ‘No, you can’t leave. We’ll arrest you.'” He told the hosts.

Creasey added, “And I’m like, ‘Wow.’ Turns out it’s easier to leave the Royal Family than it is one of their events! So we didn’t really hit it off.

During the same episode of Fitzy and Wippa, the hosts chatted with MAFS participant Josh, who left the show during last night’s episode.

During the episode, Josh told experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla that Melissa had questioned his manhood and “controlled” him by attempting to restrict his access to TV and his mobile phone. Throughout the current season of MAFS, Melissa has also called Josh out for not wanting to be intimate with her enough.

Viewers lashed out at Mel, calling her out online over her actions, and many hurled insults her way. However, when asked if he had a message for the Australian public, Josh stuck up for Mel, and asked fans to stop “attacking her”.

“Not necessarily [a message] to Melissa but just you know, the Australian public maybe just stop attacking her and bullying her online. I don’t enjoy reading any of those comments. It doesn’t raise me up or make me feel good in myself in any way. So yeah, that’s probably I’d say that more for the public than Melissa,” he said on the segment.
