One of the world’s biggest comedians is on his way to Australia: two-time Emmy Award winner John Mulaney has announced he’s bringing his ‘From Scratch’ tour to the country next year.

Beginning in Adelaide at AEC Arena on February 8th, Mulaney will visit Melbourne and Sydney, before finishing the tour at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 12th (see full details below).

After first gaining prominence as a writer on Saturday Night Live, creating iconic characters such as Stefon alongside Bill Hader, Mulaney has since established himself as one of the best comics of his generation.

In 2018, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Special for his Netflix stand-up special, Kid Gorgeous at Radio City. That followed his previous Emmy win in 2011 for co-writing the song ‘Justin Timberlake Monologue’ with Seth Meyers and Timberlake for SNL.

As well as writing for acclaimed shows like Documentary Now! and Big Mouth, in which he also voices the character of Andrew, Mulaney has since returned to SNL to host five times. He’s also enjoyed a strong run on Broadway in Oh, Hello On Broadway, the hit show he co-created with Nick Kroll.

The ‘From Scratch’ tour has been wildly successful in the U.S., selling out massive venues including New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.

Tickets for Mulaney’s Australian tour dates go on sale on Friday, June 17th at 2pm local time. Before then, My Live Nation members can get tickets during the pre-sale which kicks off on Wednesday, June 15th at 1pm local time, and runs until Friday, June 17th at 1pm local time.
