How could anyone have a problem with Jonah Hill? As far as Hollywood celebrities go, he’s one of the most harmless ones.

The Superbad legend has just been trying to enjoy one of his hobbies, surfing, but some people love to get mad at anything.

For some inexplicable reason, as per Buzzfeed, a strange sign was left on the stairs leading to San Onofre Beach in San Diego: “Jonah Hill Ruined Surfing”, it read.

Come again? One random Hollywood actor/director ruined an entire water sport and subculture all by himself? Purist protectors are the worst, man.

Both Hill and his partner Sarah Brady called out the weird and rude sign on social media. “I will never stop doing things that make me happy no matter how insecure my happiness makes you,” he wrote in a message shared on his Instagram Story.

“Only kooks do shit like this,” Brady said on her own Instagram Story. “If you feel the need to rain on someone else’s parade, ask yourself why and consider getting yourself a life.” She added: “I love my man @jonahhill and am proud of him for getting into surfing for the pure joy it brings.”

And it’s not as if Hill is some poser pretending to like surfing. He regularly posts pictures of himself out on the board on his social media, with surfing being a passion for several years now.

The star has been having a right old time of it with anonymous haters recently. After receiving so many comments about his body online, he felt the need to call out the obsession with his body image.

“I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body,” he wrote on Instagram. “Good or bad I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.”
