Justin Bieber’s street credibility has taken a huge hit thanks to Judge Judy. Yes, octogenarian Judge Judy Sheindlin.
In a new interview with Access Hollywood, the iconic TV personality revealed that Bieber used to be very, very scared of her when the two were neighbours.
“He’s scared to death of me,” she boasted. “There was a period of time before he grew up – when he was foolish, and doing foolish things.”
It just got worse for Bieber from there. Sheindlin recalled that the initial fear seemingly started eight years ago, when Bieber was arrested for a DUI and the judge made some pointed comments about it to the media.
“Being a celebrity is a gift; you can either treat it reverently, or you can make a fool out of yourself, and he’s doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself. And I think it’s sad,” she said at the time.
Around the same time, the singer had been accused of throwing eggs at another neighbour’s house (he ultimately pleaded no contest to misdemeanour vandalism and copped a hefty fine).
“I must have said something about it, and then, I understood that he was paying the front door people to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn’t have to bump into me,” Sheindlin said.

This is truly a celebrity feud for the ages. It’s unclear why they’re not neighbours anymore, and for how long they lived next door to each other. Bieber, to be fair, isn’t a young star with brattish tendencies anymore, and has grown up a little, and even gotten married. Maybe they’ll be reunited as neighbours one day.
Bieber was recently forced to postpone his remaining world tour dates, including six shows in Australia and New Zealand at the end of the year. The singer has spent the year battling with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which led to his face being partly paralysed.
