Dominik Mersch Gallery will be presenting Japanese born artist Kei Takemura’s first solo exhibition.

Takemura presented a major installation and performance art at Sydney’s 2006 Biennale. Director Dominik Mersch was reacquainted with her work while he was in Berlin last year, where Takemura lives and works.

Takemura’s medium of choice is embroidery, an interesting and delicate art form which helps her recall her memories of the past. Her work is personal, reflective and relatable. The exhibition, titled ‘Haro no Iro’ is an exploration of the fragility and beauty of this world.

Haro no Iro will be showing at Dominik Mersch Gallery from Thursday April 9 – Sunday May 2
