Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd can now add ‘Uber Driver’ to his resume after being mistaken for one in Noosa this week.
Rudd’s daughter Jessica revealed his spontaneous new gig over on Twitter, where she detailed how the situation unfolded.
As it turns out, K-Rudd was trying to find a park during heavy rain after he had dropped his family at a restaurant.
While he was attempting to find a spot, a group of revellers jumped in the car and asked to be taken to Hastings street, Noosa’s main strip.
Rather than kick them to the curb, the chivalrous Rudd agreed to drive the “lovely but tipsy” bunch over to their next destination.
According to Jessica, it took the crew “half the ride to discover who their driver was”, which TBH sounds like something we’d all be guilty of while under the influence.
Following Jessica’s tweets, the man himself took to Twitter to further explain how exactly the sitch went down.
“Four young Melburnians getting drenched in a Queensland subtropical downpour at Noosa last night with no Uber in sight… So what’s a man to do? Good kids. I hope they’ve had some fun up here.” he wrote.
Well, if he wasn’t before, it seems safe to say Rudd is now well and truly a man of the people. We’re just hoping they gave him five stars.

It wasn’t. It was Dad’s car. The lovely but tipsy crew had been at the restaurant since lunch and asked for a lift to Hastings St. Said they’d pay. He said he’d give them a lift. Took them half the ride to discover who their driver was. He’s here now.
