If you’re a vegan with a penchant for 11 secret herbs and spices then today is a gift from god. Fried chicken maverick’s KFC has announced that they have teamed up with the overlords of meat-substitutes Beyond Meat on a vegan chicken range.

KFC are set to trial a range of plant-based nuggets and boneless wings at one of its Atlanta restaurants today, each available in six or 12-piece combo meals.. The restaurant will be slinging free samples of the product with every purchase made at the restaurant.

“KFC Beyond Fried Chicken is so delicious, our customers will find it difficult to tell that it’s plant-based,” said Kevin Hochman, chief concept officer for KFC US. “I think we’ve all heard ‘it tastes like chicken’ — well our customers are going to be amazed and say, ‘it tastes like Kentucky Fried Chicken!'”

KFC Vegan Chicken Range

Honestly, I haven’t eaten meat in years but not a day goes by where I don’t miss the divine satisfaction that comes with popping a festy morsel of popcorn chicken in my gob. I truly believe that world peace will be achieved with the introduction of a vegan zinger burger. Please, almighty Colonel, bless people worldwide with a cruelty-free take on your deliciously seasoned wares.

This is the first time that Beyond Meat’s restaurant partnerships have extended from their vegan burger, sausage and ground-beef substitutes. The brand is currently in the midst of working on a sumptuous bacon substitute.

The plant-based movement is well and truly picking up steam. Earlier this month Subway announced that they were collaborating with Beyond Meat on a plant-based meatball sub, set to roll out through select stores in Canada and the US. If those cowards ever decide to bring those fantastic plant-based balls down under it is all over for you bitches. Vegans deserve to live a life where they can readily smash a sad subway six-inch at Coolangatta airport. Don’t deprive us of our most primal human desires.
