As new Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, or Kimye, drama unfolded online, Melbourne-based designer Georgia Perry found herself trending.
Listen, the Kimye divorce has been drawn out and uncomfortable not just for the couple, but also for all of us. What started out as an amicable separation between the two – with Kim even supporting Kanye at the Donda listening parties – quickly turned sour and vitriolic shortly after Kardashian started dating Pete Davidson and set forth terms that would expedite her independence.
On Tuesday, Kanye took to Instagram yet again to attack Kardashian, posting a picture of three pins on the couple’s daughter North’s bag. In the caption, he alluded that Kardashian was keeping him away from his children, but Kim immediately shut his claims down.
In a comment on the post, she asked Kanye to “stop with this narrative” and clarified that he had seen his children that very morning.
Well, here’s where Melbourne-based designer Georgia Perry comes in. You see, the pins on North’s bag – two, of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s faces respectively and the third one that of an alien – were the work of Perry, who found herself in for a surprise when she woke up.
It was both a dream and a nightmare, as Perry described it during her appearance on Carrie & Tommy.
“Certainly not what I expected to wake up to this morning,” she said, before revealing that her boyfriend brought the matter to her attention late at night.

“And then when I woke up this morning, my DMs were just like, completely lit up, with everyone just saying ‘Have you seen this? Have you seen this?'” she recalled.
The fame – however unexpected – came as a surprise to Perry, since she designed the pins seven years ago.
“How they ended up in the hands of the Kardashians themselves, I do not know, but the world ways in crazy ways sometimes,” she said, “I didn’t know I’d end up in the middle of the divorce!”
While the idea of bringing the pins back did come up, Perry claimed she’d rather not.
“I mean, we were big Kanye fans back in the day, and I still hold a flame but I feel like… this stuff, it’s not great.” she said. “No one wants to be associated with this.”
Perry also took to Instagram to express her disbelief with the matter.
“Not me getting pulled into the Kardashian/West divorce saga,” she said on her stories. “I love knowing that the ICON North has my pins on her school bag though.”
