Kyle Sandilands has called G Flip and The Temper Trap clowns during a live show this morning while weighing in on their halftime performance at the AFL grand final.

During the segment on the Kyle and Jackie O show, the hosts were unpacking the halftime show at the AFL grand final which took place over the weekend. The performance featured Robbie Williams, Delta Goodrem, G-Flip, Katie Noonan, Ngairre, Goanna, Tasman Keith, The Temper Trap and Mike Brady. The lineup was largely considered one of the most progressive and diverse that the sport has ever seen.

However, Kyle and Jackie-O weren’t impressed with the sound quality from some of the bands. During his criticism of G Flip and Temper Trap’s “sound guys”, Kyle made an offensive comment about the musicians themselves.

“Why do they sound so bad when they perform at those games? I don’t get it,” said Henderson of the musician’s sound quality, before speculating that there was “something wrong with the sound system”.

“Whoever’s controlling the sound desk, if you’re Robbie Williams’ sound guy, you’re one of the best in the world,” Kyle retorted.

He added, “If you’re G Flip or Temper Trap, or whoever these clowns are, you’ve barely got someone from Brashs [discount Australian music and electronics retailer] coming on… That’s how shit those sound guys are.”

G Flip was the first non-binary artist to ever play at the AFL grand final. They are currently dating Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause.
