Larry David and David Letterman are among the A-listers who have been uninvited from a 60th birthday party for Barack Obama.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm star and talk show host were originally part of a guest list of over 475 people for the former US president’s milestone birthday celebration.

However, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the US, Obama has been forced to scale back the event and cut famous invitees including Larry David and David Letterman.

Obama spokesperson Hanna Hankins said the decision was made because of “the new spread of the Delta variant over the past week.”

Hankins said Obama was “appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon.”

According to The New York Times, Conan O’Brien was also removed from the guest list, along with several former members of Obama’s White House administration.

However, the event will still be one star-studded affair, given that JAY-Z, Beyoncé, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen and Gabrielle Union are all reported to have made the cut.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder is reportedly providing the music for the party, which will be held at Obama’s home in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

In other news, Obama recently shared his summer playlist for 2021, including tracks by the likes of Migos, H.E.R., and Silk Sonic.

“With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer. Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately – it’s a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between,” Obama wrote alongside the playlist.

The list included Migos’ ‘Straightenin’, H.E.R.’s Lil Baby collaboration ‘Find A Way’ and Silk Sonic’s Leave The Door Open’, along with older songs like Joni Mitchell’s ‘Coyote’ and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Tumbling Dice’.
