Parks And Recreation fans know all about Leslie Knope and her love of Joe Biden, and now their 2012 meeting is getting renewed attention.

For those who may not be up to speed on what we’re on about here, Parks And Recreation protagonist Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) thinks the world of Joe Biden and things came to a comedic head when the then-VP made a high profile cameo on the critically-acclaimed sitcom in 2012.

Upon meeting Biden, Leslie turns into a hilarious puddle of mush as she exclaims “this isn’t happening, this isn’t real” before becoming a gushing fangirl for about a minute until she’s ushered away, but not before she manages to scream to the then-VP’s security detail that he’s “PRECIOUS CARGO!”

Given all that’s happened in the years since then and how we find ourselves in a world where Joe Biden is now U.S. President, folks have started revisiting his Parks And Recreation cameo following his inauguration ceremony.

And after having rewatched Biden’s cameo, it seems like Leslie Knope may have predicted his presidency some eight years ahead of time.

The scene kicks off with Leslie looking at the White House from afar and confidently stating “2020” as the date where she will be U.S. President.

While her fiance Ben Wyatt talks Leslie down to a more realistic target of “2024,” he does surprise her by arranging a meeting with Biden, which is what leads to the aforementioned “this isn’t real” bit.

Sure Leslie may have been referring to herself when she said she’ll be president in “2020,” but like how The Simpsons has predicted nearly every major event in the last few years, one can’t help but watch this scene and think “damn, Leslie Knope got it right.”

Now that President Joe Biden is a reality, what we need now is a new Parks And Recreation episode comprised entirely of Leslie Knope’s reaction to Biden’s election victory and his inauguration because that’ll be a comedic (and timely) slam dunk.
