Liam Neeson playing the role of Obi-Wan’s Jedi master, Qui-Gon Jinn way back in 1999 was pretty iconic.

Since then, the Star Wars franchise has been pretty damn busy both with films and TV series. Special shout-out to The Mandalorian.

And recently the Star Wars news has gotten only more exciting, particularly when we all found out that Ewan Mcgregor would be returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the eponymous series via Disney+.

But the news didn’t stop there.

Yes the details may have been scarce, but Disney went ahead and dropped one of the greatest details possible at their annual Investor Day – that being the fact that original Anakin Skywalker turned Darth Vader actor, Hayden Christensen would be back.

He’ll once again rep his black cape and return to freak everyone out as none other than Darth Vader.

With those two characters in mention, it’s not too unreasonable to wonder whether or not Obi-Wan’s master, Qui-Gon Jinn would be returning to the screen too.

Given that Neeson’s character, Qui-Gon Jinn died in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, he would have to be brought into the storyline in some way that isn’t in real life per say.

And just when we thought we’d always have to wonder whether or not Neeson would even be down to get back into his circa 1999 character, he answered that question in the most succinct way possible. That’s with thanks to a recent interview with Collider.

They asked Neeson if he’d be down to appear in a flashback of sorts as his character Qui-Gon. To that he replied, “Sure, I’d be up for that, yeah.”

And according to Collider, he said it with a smile too.

It’s been reported via CinemaBlend that Obi-Wan Kenobi is due to begin filming in March of this year and we can only do our best to wait patiently for that Obi-Wan versus Anakin rematch we’ve all been waiting on.
