Have you ever wondered what happened to Mufasa after Scar killed him in The Lion King? Wonder no longer as this theory explains everything!

We all know that scene in the The Lion King where Scar throws Mufasa to his death. It’s the cause of trauma for many kids and is still a scene that makes grown adults cry.

But here’s a big question that literally someone has asked: What exactly happened to Mufasa’s body after Scar threw him off the cliff?

Well if we go off what this viral Lion King theory postulates, apparently Scar devoured his brother’s corpse offscreen.

Just watch and see for yourself.

Unsurprisingly, this wild Lion King theory about Scar munching on Mufasa and using his bro’s bones as a toothpick sent folks down a massive rabbit hole involving the Googling of “do lions eat other lions?”

Some folks are convinced that the theory is legit while others are not sold on it and have tried used science to explain why.

So if you’re a TikTok user, chances are you’ve stumbled across a bunch of videos explaining this Lion King theory.

In the interest of keeping things balanced here at The Brag, let’s dive into the holes of this initially convincing theory.

Firstly, while some folks think hyenas don’t eat lions, the fact is that hyenas can eat lions. They just don’t go around hunting lions as they’re scavengers rather than apex predators.

This means that hyenas can easily munch away at a dead lion, or attack a defenceless animal that it knows can’t harm them – like what happens to Scar at the end of The Lion King.

Secondly, that skull Scar plays with isn’t Mufasa’s but a baboon’s. While both lions and baboons have similar head shapes, there are noticeable differences, such as baboons having longer skulls with front-facing eye sockets compared to the side-facing eye sockets of a lion skull.

As for the “lions don’t eat other lions” claim, while it’s true that lions don’t normally munch on their own kind, it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened before as history has shown us.

Male lions are more likely to kill and eat cubs that aren’t their own, meaning that Simba may well have become dinner had he decided to hang around.

So in short, Scar probably didn’t eat Mufasa but that’s not to say he didn’t didn’t do it as there’s evidence to suggest that it’s possible.

Having said all that, it’s within Scar’s character to keep Mufasa’s skull around as a trophy so that skull he was playing with could well be his bro’s and he simply collected it after the hyenas had their fill of Mufasa’s corpse or something.
