Australian choreographer Sue Healey will combine forces with cinematographerJudd Overton to createa remarkable performance experience this July.

ON VIEW: Live Portraitswill give you a fix of dance, film and portraiture in one hit. The creative performance piece exposes diverse ways of thinking through the body, and encourages the audience to get involved.

“In our screen based culture we experience an overwhelming deluge of moving images on a daily basis. I am interested in how we articulate and shape this information to make sense of our reality,”Healey explains.

In Part One of ON VIEW: Live Portraits,video portraits of five Australian dance artistswillaccompanylive performances. Part Two will involve video portraits of iconic dance legendsDame Lucette AldousandProfessor Shirley,who will feature as part of a complementary exhibition that will be open daily throughout the season.

Running fromFriday July17 to SaturdayJuly25, a total of ten live performances ofON VIEW: Live Portraitswill take place at Carriageworks. A separate video installation will be open from Saturday July 18.
