We’ve put together a list of some of the finest campervans on the market for your next long weekend getaway.
One recurring thought I’ve had throughout this year is that I am so lucky to be stuck in Australia. I definitely took living here for granted but damn, it really is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Between the beaches, the bushwalks and the most excellent food scene, we really could not ask for anything more.
As we’re all forced to plan our holidays on a more local scale, we’ve decided to scour through the various campervan websites and put together a little guide to some of our favourites. Hopefully they supply you with some inspiration for your next long weekend holiday.
Rosie the Vintage Viscount | Avalon Beach
This 1971 beauty is a Pinterest lovers wet dream. Natural light? A seaside chic interior? this is where dreams are made of. Rosie is located in the heart of Avalon Beach, but you can take the whip for a drive within a 100km radius. Though we don’t see why you’d want to leave the gorgeous town of Home & Away. Pop down to La Banette Patisserie Boulangerie and stock up on some fresh baguettes, then trot down to Quattro Stagioni Deli and curate a sambo that’ll make The Sopranos cast cry.
Pingu | Bowral
This little sweetheart is perfect for a couples getaway. I mean I’ve never been on a couples getaway but theoretically, I look at this and think, damn, this would be nice for a couples getaway. Bowral is beautiful and romantic and the food is sublime.
Handsome Henry | Sydney
The perfect adventure van for when you don’t want to travel more than 40km out of the CBD. Henry is kitted out with all the amenities you need. The owners were also kind enough to chuck in snorkels, swimming gear and other beach paraphernalia.
Dolce Sole Camper | Burleigh Heads
If you’re looking for a camper that’ll make you feel like you’ve been torn out of the pages of Slim Aaron’s Women this is for you. The yellow Fiat Ducato has been decked out in Amalfi Coast-inspired colours. It’s bloody gorgeous. Like a little limon sorbet, but a car. Manifesting those Queensland borders opening up.
Mazzy the Van | Flinders
I’m fading into this van. The perfect whip for those who can’t be bothered with the palaver of setting up their camper. If you book the campsite, these lovely hosts will take care of the rest. It fits four people comfortably which is a total dream come true. We recommend booking a site near Jervis Bay for a well-needed dose of that crystal clear blue water.
