Love Island Australia ended last night and Claudia and Austen were crowned the 2023 winners. They were up against Phoebe and Austen and Callum and Mads.
Prior to the finale, some strong couples were knocked out of the competition, including Al and Jess and Hugh and Stella.
While the couples all looked happy together at the finale, this year the show was pre-recorded, which means even the finale was taped long before it aired. All three of the finalists actually filmed their win, but only the couple who was voted most compatible by the public – and actually won – had their scene aired.
So, many fans are wondering which couples are still together now. Read on to find out who’s still going strong and who’s split.
Claudia and Austen
Are they still together? Yes

What have they said: Claudia and Austen won Love Island season four, and their relationship has appeared to go from strength to strength since filming wrapped.
Austen told 9Now that he is moving to Adelaide soon to be with Claudia.
“I’m going to move to Adelaide for a little bit at the start of next year. In January I’ll be making the move, so very soon!” Austen said.
Claudia told the publication that Austen has met her parents and said that they adore him.
“It went really well. My family just love him so much – way more than [they love] me, it’s really sad,” she said.
Phoebe and Mitch
Are they still together? Yes
What have they said: Phoebe and Mitch made it to the finals of Love Island, but were beaten out by Claudia and Austen for the winning title. Regardless, they’ve stayed together and Mitch believes his time in the villa helped him become a better boyfriend.
“I started off playing up and had to weigh up whether to follow my heart or think with my d—,” Mitch told 9Now.
“I’m glad I chose to follow my heart because it led me to where I am now and I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my whole entire life.”
Callum and Mads
Are they still together? Yes/No
What have they said? Despite not being together for long, Callum and Mads managed to make it to the Love Island final. Because Mads didn’t enter the villa until the final weeks, their relationship didn’t have as much foundation as the other couples. However, the pair are still seeing one another, but haven’t put a label on their relationship.
“We’ve just kind of continued to do what we were doing in the Villa,” Callum told Who Magazine.
“Obviously Mads came in super late so we weren’t official or anything in the Villa. We’re not official or anything now. We’re doing the same as what we did in the Villa- we’re keeping it casual, we still see each other, but we’re not putting a label on anything just yet. We’re just taking things as they come because obviously life now is a lot different for both of us- it’s chaotic. But we’re definitely still in contact and going with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.”
Mads added that she is on the same page as Callum. “We’re just not putting too much pressure on it at the moment. I feel like in the villa that’s why we did so well because we were ourselves, didn’t crack under pressure, and took things at our own pace so that’s what we plan on doing now we’re in the outside world.
Hugh and Stella
Are they still together? No
What have they said? Hugh and Stella called it quits not long after they left the villa, however, the two are still on good terms.
“Hugh and I, we kind of decided when we left the Villa – just because we live in different states – that we would kind of remain single, and then when we see each other we would catch up,” she said. Stella told 9Now!. She is from Melbourne while Hugh is from Brisbane.
Hugh agreed with Stella, saying; “We obviously don’t live in the same state, but we’ve hung out a few times and it’s been fun.”
“I’m still very much single, and I’m sure we’ll hang out in future. We’ll see what happens, for sure,” he added.
“Obviously it’s hard her not being in Victoria, but we’ve definitely hung out a few times.”
Jess and Al
Are they still together? No
What have they said? While Jess and Al were a strong couple in the villa, they often found themselves butting heads, largely thanks to Jess’ firey temper and Al’s nonchalant ways. It appears as if their opposite personalities made them incompatible in the real world, with Al telling So Dramatic! that they are just friends.
“We tried to be friends after the show. It was probably better that way. We’re still like really good friends to this day,” he said, adding: “We still FaceTime every second day and things like that. I’m really grateful to have her in my life and for the journey we went on. But we just happen to be friends at the moment.”
