Love Island star Al Perkins has finally revealed why he broke up with his partner on the show Jess Lursodo, and the reason is pretty trivial.

Al told his co-host Taku Chimwaza on their Back To Reality podcast that it was him that dumped Jess after the show has finished filming.

It was actually me that broke it off with Jess. We did speak for probably I think it was like over a week and a bit. Once we left the villa. I did go over to her place, I met her mum. And we watched some anime together,” he explained.

The MAFS alum added that the physical distance between his house and Jess house made him reconsider if they would work.

“Look I’m not gonna lie like the drive from my house to her house was like probably like over 40 minutes and I remember on the way there I took a wrong turn and added like another like half an hour on to the trip. Well, that’s what my head like, If I want to be with this girl I’m gonna have to do this like every single week. Do I want to do this?” He added.

Taku asked if Al had any other doubts about the relationship apart from the distance, while Al said he did, he explained that the distance was a huge barrier for him.

“So it wasn’t even anything to do with the love it was just the drive there?” Taku asked, to which Al responded: “That was probably 50% of it yeah.”

Ahead of the launch of the podcast, Al told The Brag that Jess and Jordan hooked up in front of him at a house party after he ended the relationship with Jess.

“I was actually there when it happened. So we were all at a house party and we were all just sort of dancing, you know, on the dance floor and then Jess and Jordan started hooking up in front of me,” he explained.

However, despite the potential awkwardness of the situation, Al said that he wasn’t upset that Jordan and Jess hooked up.

“I’m all for it because we aren’t together or anything. So yeah, all for it. I told them as long as they’re happy, I’m happy.”
