People are accusing Love Island Australia of being fake after recent revelations that the show had filmed multiple endings.

Let’s be honest: we flock to Love Island Australia because we love nothing more than watching a bunch of hot people fail at love and relationships as much as we do in our own lives. When that factor gets taken away, little else remains to hold interest. Viewers of the show agree.

The upcoming instalment of Love Island Australia which will also feature Married At First Sight’s Al – is being accused of being fake after sources revealed that the show has filmed three different endings.

According to sources who spoke to Yahoo, while only one couple wins, the producers have filmed different endings with every couple. Since only one version will be broadcast, contestants will not know who has won until they watch the show with the rest of Australia.

This is different from previous seasons of the show, where episodes were edited within 24 hours of being shot. The finale would be a live event, allowing people to vote in real time.

“Nobody has any idea who will win the cash prize as producers had all the finalists film a version where they win,” the source told Yahoo.

“The contestants won’t find out if they’ve won or not until they actually sit down to watch the finale with the rest of Australia, and see if their winning scene is played.” they added.

While the fake endings were filmed to prevent spoilers and ensure fans’ vested interest in the show by voting and choosing their winners, fans are obviously not happy about knowing that the winners’ reactions might not be genuine – since they filmed it way before the show actually aired.

Some fans pointed out that filming the endings ahead of time defeated the whole point of voting, since the producers can change narratives based on fan reaction.

It seems that even within the Love Island Australia camp, the team is unsure of this approach. Another source that Yahoo spoke to revealed that the producers are very well aware of the backlash this format may cause, since it ‘takes away the integrity as the cast are acting and the reactions are not genuine.’
