Luke Perry, the actor best known for playing the beloved Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210, has passed away. Perry was 52 years old. Perry died on Monday morning after being hospitalized on February 27 following a major stroke
 
His death was confirmed by a representative, who released the following statement:
 
“Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
 
Since 2016, Perry has played Fred Andrews, father of Archie Andrews in cult television series Riverdale
 
Since news of his death broke, an outpour of tributes have been shared on social media. Ian Ziering, former co-star of 90210, was the first of his castmates to pay tribute, sharing he would “forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared”.
