Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song are officially parents.
As reported by Esquire, Culkin and Song have welcomed their first child into the world, Dakota Song Culkin. Healthy baby Dakota was born on Monday 5th in Los Angeles, weighing in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces.
Their child has been named in honour of Culkin’s sister, Dakota, who passed away in tragic car accident in 2008. The new parents issued a statement to Esquire, which might be succinct, but in reality, speaks volumes: “We’re overjoyed.”
In a previous interview between Song and Esquire about Culkin’s cover story at the time, she said, “You can’t be around him and not be happy.”
In previous Culkin news, the Home Alone actor was actually on board to have the Donald Trump scene removed from the franchise’s second instalment: Home Alone 2.
Trump played a brief role in the movie, in a scene where Kevin asks him for directions to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which Trump obviously owned at the time. And to no surprise, used as his leverage to force his way into the film.
In response to a tweet asking “to digitally replace trump in ‘home alone 2’ with 40-year-old macaulay culkin,” Culkin responded with a short and sharp reply showing his support and approval of the suggestion: “Sold.”
Sold.

Naturally, the internet usually makes the impossible, possible. It turns out that someone then actually made good on the request and digitally erased Trump from the movie. The result is pretty funny, with the new alternate version showing Kevin interacting with a ‘non-speaking blob’, which kind of blends in to the hotel background.
Once again, thanks to the internet, Culkin actually came across the comical edit and replied via Twitter. “Bravo,” he said.
